Bread for the ravens

Bread is a rare luxury for Roma families. They usually lack the funds to buy it. Our bakery in Hosman feeds many hungry children. Here we bake rye bread for the families, for breakfast and for the children’s snack in the Social Centres. Depending on the season, we supplement the range with rolls, croissants, sweet braided loaves, doughnuts, apple strudel and Christmas biscuits. We also use the oven to prepare savoury dishes for our staff’s daily lunch. Pizza, quiche and casseroles are particularly popular. We regularly get inspiration from professionals.

Austrian bakers hold workshops with our bakers to teach them new recipes and skills. Austrian apple tarts, Linzer torte, sweet braided loaves and biscuits are already routine and eagerly awaited on holidays.
