Medical care for the poorest
As many of the village inhabitants are unable to travel to the city, a medical practitioner comes to our ELIJAH surgery in the Casa Nova. The doctor visits seriously ill patients at home. His small pharmacy supplies everyone with medicines. Those who can’t afford them receive them free of charge. The dressing materials we receive as donations are often sorely needed.
First visit to the dentist
Since September 2017, a dentist also treats the patients in “Casa Nova”. For many of them, this is the first dentist’s visit in their life. He explains why and how one must brush one’s teeth. He has frequently had to pull a tooth. In our Social Centres, each child has an individual toothbrush and they brush their teeth twice daily – often impossible at home, as hardly any family has running water.
