Learning support

Graduation brings new opportunities

Homework supervision in the social centres is important. The pedagogues repeat the learning material and, if necessary, give the children targeted learning support. At home they do not receive any support as many parents are illiterate. In the cramped living conditions without electricity and heating, they lack space and attention for their school work. We prepare pupils of the last compulsory school class in the learning club for the final examination. Their results in the subjects of Romanian and mathematics decide whether they are admitted to grammar school or vocational school. The example from Nou shows the joint success. By the end of the 2017/18 school year, 16 out of 17 eighth grade children had progressed to a secondary school in Sibiu. One girl was married by her family and stays in the village.
